Ministry and Facebook

25 04 2008

It seems as though if you don’t know what Facebook is your out of the loop. I have been pondering recently how we can use the technology and concept of a social networking site like Facebook. The fact of the matter is that hundreds of thousands of people are using Facebook daily and its not just the 20 something generation. More and more Facebook is being used by older generations because people just genuinely have a desire to connect with friends, family, co-workers and just keep in touch with the latest photos, videos, and life’s stories. I have had a Facebook account for a couple of years now, at first I was resistant to using the technology but recently I have been thinking of the ministry potential. Internet evangelism day is this Sunday. Today I completed setting up a Facebook group for our Church. Yesterday I started reading this e-book. Check it out here! What do you think? Is Facebook a ministry tool or just a secular networking site?

Hey Jeremy,

Way to go for giving a try to use Facebook for ministry.

Just wanted to let you know that Chris Forbes of Ministry Marketing Coach has published a new 31 page e-book called “Facebook for Pastors” which can be downloaded for free. I blogged about it last week:
